Red-figure pelike, newer style form. Ceramic clay. The bottom of the neck seamlessly transitions into a pear-shaped bulge; the neck is everted at the top. Vertical handles extend down to the widest part of the vessel. Executed in red-figure with a rather thin black varnish and white slip, only traces of which have been preserved. The panels on the front are filled with visual shorthand – a large head of an Amazon and a griffin protome. The back is decorated with two artistically imperfect figures of men in himatia, depicted with a reserved silhouette and sketched details. Irregular egg-and-dart bands on obverse and reverse.
